discover Paris with perfumer Vincent Ricord
"When I have the opportunity to work with an artistic direction like with WELTON, which allows me to take the time to express myself through a perfume, it's as if I'm composing a poem, as if I'm writing a musical theme..."

The sweet and liquorous facet of davana blends with the spicy notes of cardamom and pink berries. The heart is intensely radiant, with a beautiful opulent rose enhancing the saffron and leather. IRIS van HERPERN - SCULPTING THE SENSES
Moreover, I also attended the Barbie exhibition, the absolutely divine Christian Dior exhibition, as well as Elsa Schiaparelli and her surreal creations..."
"The exhibitions at the Museum of Decorative Arts frequently offer a cross-sectional view of various artists and their approach to enhancing their craft, their expertise, and their artistic exploration. This provides an interpretation of the present situation."
The way she embraces the marine world, the plant kingdom, and elements like water, through 3D prints... I was absolutely astounded.""
"All of this transcends me, and when I stand in front of my perfume bottles, I try to capture that same energy and channel it into my own creative field."

PARFUMS D'ORIENT AT L'INSTITUT DU MONDE ARABE
In this regard, it is truly remarkable to see that people today are interested in perfumes in the same way they appreciate painting, music, and other forms of artistic expression that bring me delight. We are living in a time of curiosity, where we are collectively building a shared culture around the world of olfaction. Just as one would attend a tasting of fine wines, we can now envision gatherings where individuals come together to discover exceptional fragrances."
"I thoroughly enjoyed the immersive setting of this exhibition. When we talk about perfumes, we often have the privilege of having historical ambassadors like Guerlain and Patou, who have always elevated perfume to a prestigious level. It was delightful to see that perfume is an integral part of Eastern culture, easily accessible, and completely infused into everyday life."
"I also loved the artworks, a series of photos that really touched me because, being from Grasse, it's a world that is familiar to me: a series of portraits of jasmine flowers. As I looked at them, they mesmerized me, and I saw dancers. As I continued to gaze at them, they transformed from mere flowers into a ballet, a procession of ballerinas made out of jasmine petals. I found it incredibly poetic."

MYSTIQUE MYRRHE
"The amber oriental blends hold a special place in Maison Welton's heart. This new creation, unveiled at the Esxence exhibition in Milan in March 2024, takes inspiration from the idea of showcasing myrrh, a beautiful raw material treated in a modern way while preserving the heritage of fine French perfumery and craftsmanship.
I have captured the ambiance of a particular moment: lounging on a terrace café, gazing out upon the beautiful cityscape of Paris, where the essence of oud papyrus blends with warm, balsamic tones of myrrh.
Each of my creations is a personal journey, an essential step for me as a perfume composer."
FRAGRANT JOURNEY
LE MARCHÉ DES ENFANTS ROUGES - LE MARAIS
Located in the Marais district, this is the oldest covered market in Paris. Originally, there was an adjacent orphanage where the children were dressed in red tunics. The market was named after these poor orphans, who, having very few resources, would sometimes steal a few trinkets from the stalls.
"The first time I went there was in the middle of winter, a true burst of warmth. We go there as a family to indulge ourselves. The area may be small, but it's ideal for a world tour of flavors."

IN TUNE
PIGALLE, RUE DE DOUAI
A passionate musician, Vincent Ricord has remarkable talent: he knows how to play several instruments with an innate sense of rhythm: double bass, bass, guitar, drums...
"Rue de Douai in the Pigalle district is known to all musicians. I often go to Bass Center. There is also an absolutely magnificent collector's guitar store on this same street.”
"When I play in a group, what amuse me at the end of rehearsals is when we exchange instruments. This allows you to better understand the mechanics of a group than trying to determine the range of an instrument.
When I discovered that you could feel such emotion when playing music, marrying one note to another and seeing that these two notes fade into something else: a chord. It was this magic that really moved me. In the same way that we will create a sound color by making a polyphonic chord."
"Being able to show that an ingredient combined with another ingredient is not an addition of ingredients, it takes us to another dimension, that’s pretty awesome. These are feelings that only perfumers can know."
